Camotes Island

"When you least expect it, great adventure finds you!"

Mangodlong Rock Resort

How to get there:

To get to Camotes Island you will have plenty of options. For those who want to go in Poro directly from Cebu City they can catch a trip in Pier 1 which is a Fast Craft, the trip will be around 1 hour only. For those who want to go in Consuelo they can travel by riding a bus or van coming from Cebu city going to Danao Port which is around an hour, then travel by roro to get to Camotes for 2 hours.
I suggest you catch the earliest trip for roro which is 5:30am, succeeding trips is every 2 hours.

Prices:
Fast Craft: P380/trip per person
Bus: P40/trip per person
Roro (Jomalia): P200 aircon, P180 economy

Stayed at:

Mangodlong Paradise Beach

We spend the night at Mangodlong Beach Resort which is located in the Island of Consuelo, it is 10-15 minutes ride from the Pier. The Place is awesome! If given a chance to go back here in Camotes, I would prefer this place to stay. It's so perfect for the weekend getaway. For more details you can check their Facebook Page or website.

Food to try:
Pito's Sutukil
For lunch you can either go to Baywalk for inasal or in Santiago White Beach if you prefer seafood. Our guide had suggested that we eat in Pito's Sutukil. We ordered tuna (P90), Calamares (P90) and Native Chicken Tinola (P35) which is prepared already or you can order a different choice in their menu but you have to wait for a few minutes. It's really affordable because the meal can be shared and it's good for 2 persons already. Another Camotes delicacy would be their chips made of sweet potatoes which is at P10 only each (Sorry I did't get a chance to take of photo of it though).

Places to visit:

For places to visit around the island, there are day tours available at P500 for whole day or P250 for half day. You can ask for a cheaper rates depending on how you negotiate the driver of habal-habal (Motorcycle). Multi-cabs are also available for groups at P1,500 only.
